The Westcott fountain is a place of sightseeing. The Legacy Walk takes tourists around popular sites of FSU and stops at Westcott.

Westcott fountain provides a popular photo opportunity for all on campus. Here the Ruby Diamond building, the bricks, and the benches can all be seen surrounding the main focus of the fountain. Again, although the rising fountain is blocked, it is still recognizable.

Westcott Fountain is also used as a place for sororities to gather to celebrate the official naming of big and little within the sisterhood.

Climbing the fountain is an iconic moment in an FSU student's journey. Small blocks surrounding the entire fountain are slightly raised from the water and allow for stepping stones for those entering the fountain as means of celebration.

One of the most celebrated traditions at FSU revolves around the Westcott Fountain. When a student turns 21 it is customary for friends to throw the birthday girl or boy into the fountain. Although it wasn't intended to be user friendly, the fountain has evolved into a makeshift pool for drunk students on their birthday as a rite of passage.

The Westcott Fountain at Florida State University is an iconic representation of all FSU has to offer. It is a main focal point at the university and is one of the most popular photo backdrops. On a campus full of many admired memorials, The Westcott Fountain stands out in the crowd. Every true Seminole has had an experience at the fountain, from graduations to engagements to the famous 21st birthday dunk.
Because The Westcott Fountain is located in the middle of a circular green it allows for a 360° view of the memorial. Along the entire circle are strategically placed concrete benches that give the student body a place to relax and enjoy the magnificent scenery. Surrounding the fountain are hundreds of inscribed bricks that leave a physical form of a memory. These bricks can be purchased and placed for all to see, it is often used as a popular form of proposal.
The pictures in this gallery show many different celebrations that have taken place at Westcott as well as many different angles of the fountain.
